Project overview

At a glance

Hudson Homes needed a single platform to manage hundreds of property listings, virtual tours and incoming inquiries.

We rebuilt their operations stack from the ground up with a custom backend and admin dashboard.

The result is a modern CMS that handles content, leads and analytics in one place.

What we solved

Real challenges, real solutions

  • 1

Property listings, virtual tours and display home schedules were managed across disconnected tools, slowing every update.

  • 2

Sales staff lacked a structured inbox and lost track of inquiries, causing missed follow-ups and lower conversion.

  • 3

Marketing had no reliable reporting on traffic, lead sources or listing performance to inform decisions.

Our approach

How we worked

We ran weekly sprints with the Hudson Homes leadership and sales teams. Each sprint delivered a vertical slice (listings, tours, inquiries, reporting) deployed to a staging environment for hands-on review. Acceptance criteria were tracked in Jira and tied to QA scripts, so every release was validated end-to-end before going live.

Technical breakdown

How we built it

We engineered a multi-module property platform combining a Next.js front-end with a Node.js API layer, MySQL data store and S3 backed media handling. Property listings, virtual tour links, agent profiles and display home schedules are managed through a role-based admin panel with granular permissions. We implemented secure JWT authentication, two-factor login for staff, audit logging and per-record activity history. Dynamic search uses indexed MySQL queries plus a faceted filter layer (price, suburb, bedrooms, status) cached via Redis for sub-200ms responses. Inquiry capture flows through a validated form pipeline into a lead inbox with assignment, status tracking and SLA timers, and integrates with the email and SMS gateways. The CMS supports rich-text content, drag-and-drop image galleries, virtual tour embeds, SEO metadata, sitemap generation and scheduled publishing. Reporting dashboards visualise traffic, lead sources, conversion ratios and listing performance. CI/CD pipelines, automated tests and structured backups keep the platform stable in production.

Impact & results

What we delivered

Listing publishing time dropped from hours to minutes, average inquiry response time fell by over 60%, and the platform comfortably handles peak traffic without degradation thanks to Redis-backed search caching and optimised MySQL indexes.
