How we worked
We followed a regulated-fintech delivery model: tight security review at every milestone, threat-modelled flows, and staged rollouts. Sprints alternated between homeowner-facing and merchant-facing features so both sides progressed in parallel.

Technical breakdown
How we built it
The platform is delivered through a Next.js marketing site and homeowner/merchant portals, a React Native mobile companion and a Node.js + Express API backed by MySQL and Redis. Homeowners apply for renovation financing through a guided multi-step form with document upload, identity check and bank statement parsing. The application is scored against rule-based eligibility criteria and routed to the underwriting queue. Merchants manage quotes, milestones, delivery confirmations and payment requests through a dedicated portal, while homeowners approve milestones to release funds. Admins oversee applications, KYC, pricing rules, merchant performance and disputes through a granular dashboard with drill-down reports. Payment orchestration integrates with the bank/payment provider for disbursements and repayments, with full ledger reconciliation. Notifications run on email, SMS and in-app channels. Strict role-based access, audit logging and field-level encryption protect sensitive PII and financial data, and the platform is hosted in a regional cloud with HA database, automated backups and monitoring.
Impact & results
What we delivered
Average application approval time fell from days to hours. Merchant onboarding is fully self-serve, and admins now run the business from a single dashboard with real-time pipeline and risk visibility.
